One of the biggest mysteries in Russian history – What or who slaughtered nine hikers?

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this and it truly is stunning. They obviously have done a good job in keeping it as quiet as they possibly could and maybe now we can bring it out into the open and give it the exposure it rightly deserves.

We’ve all heard of cattle mutilations, but this goes one step further. The condition that these hikers were found is appalling and shocking. How could nine people become so scared that they had to cut their way out of a tent then run barefoot through snow to their doom?

In 1959 a group of experienced hikers had set out upon one of Siberias mountains until something whent incredibly wrong. After it was realised the hikers were mising, a search team found the tent with its outer doors still buttoned up and warm clothing, equipment and other items still inside the tent. The temperature outside was around the minus twenty four degree mark.. and the hikers were barefoot..

Dyatlov Pass incident

from here, we read this…

Lev Ivanov, could find no answers. He concluded in his hastily composed report that all nine deaths had been caused by what he described as ‘an unknown elemental force which they were unable to overcome’.

Privately, he told people he thought they’d been killed by aliens in a UFO.

When the bodies were found, they were described as looking as though they had aged, skin colour was different and one had had the tongue removed, another had skull damage so severe it looked like they’d been in a car crash, others had ribs crushed and there was an overall recording of radiation present.It appears, from this combined image that they had all run quite a distance before things cae to a horrible end;

Although the barefoot prints of the hikers had been found in the snow leading away from the tent, there was no other trace of anything, or anyone, coming anywhere near the tent. So what gave them such a scare? It would seem that whatever frightened them so badly was inside the tent and unbottoning the tent to escape would have taken too long in such a panic.

From this rather impressive sketch, we can almost get a sense of what occurred over that time period. We see them leaving the base camp, setting up camp out in the field and then, according to the direction the footprints are pointing, they all headed off in one direction. Four were found dead at this first point near the tree line of a forest. It seems the group then almost doubled back on themselves. Two more fell just inside the tree line and then the final three were taken down in what looks like one action as they all face the same way as though hit from behind. Only with further images and the full detailed report of how they were found can this idea of the final events be confirmed, but this image seems to say a lot about it.

From other images, the distance they ran, some barefoot others in just socks, was 1.5km in the snow.

It would seem that the idea of alien visitors doing this might be the only thing left to explain this mystery. But it’s not the normal thing we hear about.. When was the last time you ever heard of anything remotely like this?

A mystery that may never be solved.

Apparently, this is the last photograph to be taken found on the roll of film inside the camera the team used.. It is yet to be explained as to what we are seeing, if anything.

This site gives us a fantastic report on the events. Mostly taken from the diary of the team plus autopsy reports etc.
